Optimizing the Offer

Following an offer, your agent contacts all interested parties to review the offer terms and communicates all counteroffer options with you. The contract is negotiated and accepted, and the transaction summary is circulated to all parties.

Completing the Close

A date is set with the closing company. Meanwhile, your Compass agent will provide resources for repairs, moving details, and transfer of utilities. Your agent arranges the final walk-through and finally the closing, at which time the keys are handed over to the buyer.

Buyer and Seller - Lincoln Park, Chicago

I met Jason Rowland two years before I put up my condo for sale. I was looking at a unit in a building at which he was showing the same unit to his client. We talked about the neighborhood and general real estate topics. I told him that I did not plan to sell my house or move for at least a year. Over that time --which was actually a time period over two years by the time I had my condo cleaned out and made ready for showing ---Jason called me from time to time. We talked about general real estate in the Lincoln Park market, which helped me get ready to list my place. Several months before I listed, I called Jason with questions about what I should do and needn't do to get it ready for listing. His advice was practical and very helpful. My condo was listed for a short time --three weeks I think before it sold. Jason's advice throughout the contract period was very helpful. By that time, he was showing me apartments. He understood exactly what type of unit I wanted to move to; he didn't suggest seeing apartments that were not within my description. We saw relatively few apartments in a span of just a few weeks before I found the right one. Again, Jason was very helpful throughout the contract period. I would (and will) recommend him highly.
