The state's relatively flat topography would lead most people to believe that Iowa's golf courses would be lacking in variety, but they would be mistaken. There are a lot of golf courses in Iowa that are just waiting to be played. The Hawkeye State's natural landscapes are reflected in Iowa's nearly 400 golf courses that are located between the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers.
Work on your swing and enhance every shot with these public golf courses in the Iowa City area.

Des Moines Golf & Country Club (South)
Location: 1600 Jordan Creek Parkway West Des Moines, IA 50266
Contact No.: (515) 440-7500
Des Moines Golf & Country Club (South) hosted the 2017 Solheim Cup and had nine holes from each course. While the entire course is demanding, the first four holes are particularly difficult due to the presence of water. It's possible to par or even birdie every hole, but poor shots will make it difficult to recover.

Contact No.: (515) 285-4962
With a layout that is reminiscent of the Golden Age, Wakonda Club is full of distinguishing features and flair. Every par 4/5 has wide open fairways, allowing you to take a big swing at the ball. The annual Principal Charity Classic has been taking place here with the aim to help Iowa children's charities.
