Chicago Italian Beef Festival
July 31 – August 2, 2026 · Jefferson Memorial Park
Kicking off the month, the brand new Chicago Italian Beef Festival takes over Jefferson Memorial Park with Chicagoland's favorite restaurants serving up their unique take on the iconic Italian beef sandwich. A must-visit for any true Chicagoan.
Bronzeville Smooth Jazz Fest

Northalsted Market Days
August 7–9, 2026 · Northalsted, Lakeview
The largest street festival in the Midwest returns to the historic Northalsted neighborhood. Three days featuring 250+ vendors, food and drink, drag performances, dance exhibitions, and live music across four stages. $20 suggested donation upon entry.
Ginza Holiday Festival

Bud Billiken Parade

The largest free air and water show in the nation returns to North Avenue Beach. Watch breathtaking aerial demonstrations from military and civilian performers over Lake Michigan. Rehearsals begin Friday August 14, with the main show Saturday and Sunday.

🎬 Free Movies in the Park
The Millennium Park Summer Film Series runs every Tuesday through August 18 at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. Bring a blanket, grab some food, and enjoy free movies under the stars on a huge 40-foot LED screen. Here's the August lineup:

Chicago Park District Summer Camps
The Chicago Park District offers camps across the entire city through late August sports camps, arts and crafts, dance, cheerleading, gymnastics, and more. Many programs run 1–6 weeks and are affordable. Ages vary by program.
YMCA of Metro Chicago Summer Camp
The YMCA runs day camps through August 31 across Chicago neighborhoods. Activities include arts and crafts, sports, games, and personal development programs. Family membership holders receive priority pricing.
Steve & Kate's Camp
Running through August 7 at 3500 N. Hoyne Ave., Steve & Kate's Camp trusts kids to choose their own activities designing, building, coding, baking, dancing, and more. A unique and beloved Chicago camp experience for ages 4–12.
